There are lots of works about Rizal nowadays, written by both Filipino and foreign authors. In my home country, i cannot pinpoint a specific “national hero” or a “hero” at all. Since i have been living in the Philippines i have always wondered about the ideals of the Filipinos, and it was through the Rizal class that i understood, appreciated and analysed the culture of the Filipinos, its political, economic and social setting of the past and relate it to the present situation, ideals and concepts of the people. Through it, we can develop the good traits of the youth nowadays and in the next generation. But believe me I give two thumbs up for what Rizal has done for our country. We, by relating ourselves in his life and virutes, will be the next in line to our predecessors that will lead the people in our country for the betterment of the whole. Rizal is really a noble man that worth to look upon. For me, as a student, it is really significant to all the college students and to all the Filipino citizen to know his relevance of it. this course is not so important in terms of my field course.Infact, The last thing that dies, is hope. I do believe that we could gain a lot of things in his principles, writings and thoughts about life. But as I take this subject, I realize that the challenge lies here. To pay tribute to an exemplary Filipino who even in his lifetime was already revered by his compatriots with the likes of Andres Bonifacio and Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. I ws able to think of many times, for taking Rizal subject in which carrying 3 units seems so expensive and it add to the problem in school. The guy was monumentally brilliant, a Renaissance man through and through. we journey into different places and meet many different perils in life as a test for our overcoming life’s challenges. In fact, it is full of wit and humor, Rizal being past master at satire. For me as a student of a University at first truly indeed I get bored with the subject Rizal because I always question myself about the essence of Rizal subject on my course it is very far out in my own term, how could Rizal subject help me in my profession, but I know there are a lot of subjects I have been studying that could not help me in my profession. In knowing also the life of our national hero we could also see the great nationalistic trait of a Filipino citizen wherein we could also be… Thats why iI gave credit to those person that continued to encourage people to study Jose Rizal. And also he is our National Hero, so he has a right to be respect because he is a patriotic person,he fought for our country through pen and not bloody war. Taking Rizal as a course will also develop the thinking of a student. He would not have stood for a local tyranny any more than a foreign one. But I have no choice but to admit the fact that it is part of the big reality. I do agree with the Law that the congress implement for. Including Rizal subject in our curriculum is really a burden for me, because I think I wouldn’t be able to use it in my desired profession.
